Does your dog bark and lunge when on leash? With the use of positive reinforcement training, you will learn to encourage calm behavior from your dog in situations that previously resulted in distress.
In order to be most successful, dogs in this class should have some basic foundation training and understand and respond to cues such as “sit” and “down”.
After enrolling, pet guardians will complete a behavior questionnaire so that one of our Certified Professional Dog Trainers can consult with you before your class session begins.
Class size is limited to 6,
Age of pet 6 months and up
Duration of class 7 weeks, pets do not come to the first class
No human aggression or dangerous canine aggression
Owner will be required to provide special equipment (treats, any recommended training tools such as a Gentle Leader, Halti or Harness, and a muzzle).
Cost $120.00 (some pets may require some private instruction prior to group class)

Our class is designed for dogs that are reactive around strangers, other dogs or new situations – “Triggers”. The course will emphasize improving your leadership skills to redirect and manage your dog’s behavior when encountering these difficulties and reinforce good behavior through reward based training.

The Reactive Dog class will be held at the Kansas Humane Society (3313 N. Hillside, Wichtia, Ks 67219) on Monday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

Orientation - first night without dogs. Weeks 2 through 7 will be with dogs. Class size is limited.
